We're more than a supply store. We're the foundation of your vision.

Meet the two men who inspired it all

At Walter Therman Co., our story begins with two men whose legacy continues to shape our work and values. Our grandfathers, Walter Lee Kidd and Therman Stone, lived lives that exemplified integrity, purpose, and heart—qualities that remain at the core of everything we do.

  • Walter, from Indianapolis, Indiana, was a skilled carpenter and a devoted family man. Over his 60+ years, he built more than homes; he built a legacy grounded in service, family, and craftsmanship. Whether working at Indiana Bell or running his own business, Kidd Construction, Walter’s hands created, but it was his heart that left the true impact. He taught us to care about the details, to show up for the people we love, and to always build with purpose—both in work and life.

  • Therman, our other namesake, was a warm, easy-going presence who could make anyone feel welcome. A U.S. Army veteran, Therman’s time in Germany instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and an appreciation for life’s simple connections. As a manager at a gas company for nearly three decades, his calm leadership earned deep respect. Therman’s legacy is one of service, humor, and human connection—reminding us that leadership is about people, not just results.

Today, Walter Therman Co. exists to carry forward their legacy.

We’re a design and supply company driven by quality, relationship, and timeless values. We believe in doing what’s right, not what’s easy. We believe that hard work matters, that family comes first, and that faith should shape the way we live and lead.

We hope to involve our children in the business, just as our grandfathers did with theirs – teaching them the value of honest work, the joy of building something real, and the importance of doing it all with humility and heart. Whether we’re designing a space or supplying quality materials, we approach every detail with the same pride our grandfathers would have.

This isn’t just a business. It’s a legacy we’re honored to continue.
